Today we celebrate Juneteenth, the day that the last enslaved Africans in Galveston, TX found out they were free. 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation. From that day on, Africans would have to restart their lives as black people in America. A unique journey that has birthed some of the greatest achievers in World history, and also one that has seen the most evil side of systematic oppression and racism. Despite it all, we love our culture, we love our people and we love being black!
